ugS is planning to withdraw support of the UNIX and Linux platform environments from Imageware.
( \' v' `1 _& w9 I) IUGS has reached the decision to withdraw support of Imageware from the HP-UX, IBM AIX, Linux, SGI IRIX, and Sun Solaris environments due to the significant decline in the use of these environments by the worldwide Imageware customer base.8 r$ P, f& u5 o. L
Today, more then 95% of Imageware customers use the Microsoft Windows operating system environment. $ g: J/ _- B* M9 t/ S G
UGS has involved HP, IBM, SGI and Sun in reaching this decision.1 m/ F0 ~8 v# |3 v/ C
These vendors understand that decisions on ending support for certain platforms are based on technology trends and customer demand. - c1 n, j( t Y
UGS, through the GTAC organization worldwide, will continue to provide support for Imageware 12 running on HP-UX, IBM AIX, Linux, SGI IRIX, and Sun Solaris through December 2008.! l) a: V7 p5 Q
And UGS will continue to provide maintenance updates via Imageware 12.x point releases for documented severity 1 PRs that are confirmed customer production critical issues on the HP-UX, IBM AIX, Linux, SGI IRIX, and Sun Solaris platform environments through June 2008. 9 V( d4 | D& B* f. x( G0 C
As an Imageware customer, you are able to continue to use your existing platform for some time.- d0 t; f" Q: E5 O
As other Imageware customers have already made the decision to move their Imageware deployment to the Windows environment or to move forward to NX, UGS would like to assist you in similar transition plans. 1 Y1 i* C" T# @3 E8 E( @! s
