3.In the New Material group, select the material type from the Type list.

Do not use a name that is the same as a library material. With assemblies, it is possible for two material records to use the same name if one is a library material and the other is a local material, or the two records are of different categories or material types. This situation can cause problems and should be avoided by using unique record names.
